The annual Miss Destin Pageant has begun! Five beautiful girls are competing to wear the crown.
The girls will participate in social events before the actual pageant, such as a judge's tea, an always fun soda party and a tour of the Destin Fishing Museum. Whether you a local or visitor the Destin Fishing Museum is a must do. Emerald Coast Rental Management is excited to be part of the this time honored event.
The night of the pageant, the contestants will prove to the judges and the audience why they should be crowned Miss Destin. The Community Center is always packed full of people watching and waiting to see who wins. The girls are given the opportunity to show off and model beautiful dresses, while the host Christian Garmin of the WEAR3 News tells the audience a little bit about each young lady. There are other fun aspects of the pageant, such as a dance portion and a Q&A session. The current Miss Destin participates in the fun and gets to crown the new winner! The pageant is entertaining and enjoyable for everyone!
The main responsibility of Miss Destin is to represent Destin at the annual Destin Fishing Rodeo in October. Miss Destin goes down to the docks every day and takes pictures with the fisherman and interacts with all of the people involved. The Destin Fishing Rodeo lasts from October 1st through October 31st and is open each day. The fish are weighed at AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and everyone is welcome to come out and watch.
